Large computer codes with millions of lines can be complex and difficult to characterize. Easy Parallel Performance software tool (ezParaPerf) can automatically instrument the code, and then by running the instrumented code, you can determine the amount of time in each subroutine or loop.
You can also determine the MPI traffic or interprocessor communication in subroutines, which can be very difficult to profile with out this HPC software tool.
